Riker Danzig LLP, one of New Jersey’s largest and most established law firms, is set to move its headquarters from downtown Morristown to Madison’s Giralda Farms campus in 2025. The firm has signed a lease agreement with Bergman Real Estate Group for the office space at 7 Giralda Farms, a historic building on the former Geraldine R. Dodge Estate. The new office will offer a modern, open design that aligns with the firm’s evolving hybrid work model and its commitment to fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Founded 140 years ago, Riker Danzig has been a cornerstone of Morristown’s business community, occupying space at Headquarters Plaza for over 50 years. The firm’s move comes as part of a broader strategy to rethink its workspaces and better meet the needs of its 135 attorneys in a post-pandemic world. Managing Partner Michael P. O’Mullan explained that the new headquarters will help the firm continue its team-based approach while incorporating cutting-edge technology and more flexible office layouts.

The building at 7 Giralda Farms is currently undergoing significant upgrades, including renovations to common areas and the addition of high-end amenities. The 236,800-square-foot office complex features a two-story atrium, an outdoor patio, a fitness center, conference spaces, and modern workspaces designed for flexibility. The property is also easily accessible via Route 124, Route 24, Interstate 287, and NJ Transit’s Madison and Convent Stations.

Bergman Real Estate Group acquired the property in 2021 and has since invested in substantial improvements to attract top-tier tenants like Riker Danzig. Michael Bergman, CEO and president of Bergman, expressed excitement about the long-term partnership with the law firm.

Riker Danzig’s relocation is part of the firm’s broader effort to revamp its office environment, including a new office opened in Manhattan at 489 Fifth Ave. in January 2023. Nicholas Racioppi Jr., head of the firm’s real estate practice, led the negotiations for the Madison lease, calling it an ideal choice for the firm’s future.

“Our new space at 7 Giralda Farms provides everything an innovative law firm needs, with its open-floor design, state-of-the-art technology, and exceptional amenities for our attorneys and staff,” O’Mullan said. “This move represents an exciting step forward as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Although Morristown has been the firm’s home for decades, Racioppi noted that the move to Madison reflects the firm’s expanding needs and its commitment to investing in a space that enhances its culture and operations for the long term.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to retool our office environment to better reflect the new way we work,” said Executive Committee Co-Chair Kelly S. Crawford. “Our new home at 7 Giralda Farms is an important step forward for Riker Danzig as we continue to serve our clients into the future.”
